The Capilano Rugby Club is excited to kick off its 50th season of rugby on the North Shore. The 2018-2019 season is the 50th season and will lead into the 50th Anniversary with celebrations planned throughout 2019.
The first big event planned in the 2018-2019 Home Opener. This takes place on Saturday September 15, 2018 at Klahanie Park. All five Capilano RFC Sr. Teams will be hosting games. This includes four match-ups with the Meraloma Rugby Club.
There will be a special presentation at 2:15pm before the Premier Men’s game. The club will be recognizing members from the very first Capilano RFC teams in 1969. We will also be recognizing Meralomas members from the 1969 season. They will all be honoured to recognize “50 years of competition between the Capilano Rugby Club and Meraloma Rugby Club dating back to 1969.”
We are calling on all Capilano RFC supporters to come down to the club on September 15. Invite anyone who has played or supporter the Capilano club over the last 50 years. We encourage you to wear any Capilano Rugby attire that you have. The Premier Men will be playing in a retro Capilano jersey on the day. We are expecting the Meralomas to bring a large crowd of supporters so be sure to come down to Klahanie to support the Capilano players. This will be a fun day for people of all ages!
